As yoga therapists, it is important for us to understand how to work towards and achieve contemplative states. Spending time in contemplative states creates shifts and changes in the system that benefit our health.
Learning meditation practices for specific health conditions is a vital part of our work as yoga therapists, because each person we work with may need not only a personalized approach to their evolution but also an individualized practice tailored to their health and any challenges they may be experiencing.
In this experiential module, we examine specific conditions and learn meditation practices (and essential modifications for each) to address working with pain management, autoimmune diseases, and mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and others. We will learn another framework outside the Koshic and Doshic lens developed by Brandt to help identify and teach meditations that are most likely suited to individual clients.
Teaching Meditation for Specific Conditions advanced module week is open to all Breathing Deeply students in our yoga therapy school. An option for a special one-day stand-alone practice retreat is available for students not attending the full week.
