Yoga Teacher Training Program

For many of you, the Breathing Deeply 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training is where your journey will begin! If you don’t have a 200-hour yoga certification, this course is a prerequisite for our Yoga Therapy Foundations Program.

Unlike other 200-hour teacher trainings, our program is designed specifically for students whose end goal is to become a Yoga Therapist and is only offered as a package—in tandem—with our Foundations Program.

Like other 200-hour trainings, you’ll learn the basics of poses, anatomy, breathwork, and the history of yoga. However, we’ll dig deeper into the constructs that Yoga Therapists use every day: therapeutic movement, doshas (Ayurveda), yogic philosophy, chanting, meditation, and more.

In the end, you’ll be ready to both teach yoga in a group/class setting, and be fully prepared to become a Yoga Therapist with two separate certifications — a 200-hour teacher training certification and a Yoga Therapy certification. You will also have the prerequisites to matriculate into the Breathing Deeply Advanced Yoga Therapy Program and earn the highest standard of yoga therapy certifications, C-IAYT.

Program Overview

The 200 HR Teacher Training includes:

  • Radically Balanced Yogi: a 6 week personal practice course offering insight into yoga therapy’s core principles and what you want to know for your own practice

  • 5 Home Study Modules with Coursework

  • 6 Live (monthly) Seminars

  • An active forum for all students and a place to get questions answered while being in community

  • Some overlap in material in preparation for the BDYT Foundations Program

Radically Balanced Yogi

This is a six week personal practice course that offers insight into yoga therapy’s core principles and what you want to know for your own practice. It is divided into sections by week, spending the first day of the week with lecture and lesson materials. The other days offer questions for introspection to help you absorb the material with a contemplation journal. This course was designed by Brandt Passalacqua, head teacher for the Breathing Deeply Yoga Therapy School.

The Basics Program

The BDYT Basics Module will provide lessons to develop skills to teach. The primary goal of this module is to give students basic languaging skills for yoga asana and pranayama. Through video lectures on how to instruct basic poses with clear languaging and a one-on-one tutorial, basic teaching skills are learned.

The Five Modules

The five modules that are offered over the course of six months are lesson videos including home study with practices and coursework. Modules include topics ranging from yoga texts to anatomy to the history, ethics, and business of yoga. These online modules are accessible 24/7 and offer a comprehensive package for learning.
