Yoga Teacher & Therapist
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Lauren was at a turning point in her life when she discovered yoga therapy and Breathing Deeply.
”With my kids getting older and needing less of my attention, I found myself in a period of transition. I really wanted to focus on a new career that wasn’t an office job. My personal yoga practice was strong, but I wasn’t really interested in teaching group classes in a studio. I felt pulled to do something within the health and wellness/yoga realm, so I did a few google searches about careers in yoga and discovered yoga therapy. When I discovered Breathing Deeply, it immediately resonated with me… it felt like the very thing I was looking for.
Since beginning the program, my love of yoga has increased even more and my knowledge of the practices has grown tremendously. I can’t overstate how much I have grown emotionally and spiritually. Adding to my asana and meditation practice what I’ve learned about chanting, breathwork, broader meditations and reading/contemplation of the Sutras and other texts has changed my life.
The Foundations Program exceeded my expectations. It’s very clear and at the same time very impactful. Also, the support from Brandt, Anna, and the other teachers is fantastic. By the time the Foundations Program wrapped up, I knew I had to enroll in the Advanced Program—I didn’t want the learning to end!
I feel more balanced, calm, resourceful, and awake than I have in my entire life. My interactions with others have also improved. I’m personally less reactive, more open minded, calm, and understanding. I know this will translate well as I begin working with clients. I now feel confident in moving forward with teaching others the value and healing benefits of yoga.
I would tell anyone considering this program that it is very manageable and easy to pace as needed. The approach is incredibly effective, enlightening, and well thought out. Most importantly, when you finish the program you will have the confidence to practice as a Yoga Therapist.”
Although valuable on their own, combining the concepts of “Discipline and Surrender” can be important for the evolution of our meditation practice. In this episode, meditation teacher Brandt Passalacqua references the Yoga Sutra and the Yoga Spandakarika texts as he explains how discipline, or “the willingness to maintain the perspective we have found through practice,” […]
Listen in as Meditation Teacher Brandt Passalacqua describes “Finding The Flow” in our meditation practices, or in his words “swimming downstream in the waters of our own nature.” In this episode, Brandt talks about the concepts of samadhi and how teachers and teaching are important, but “the real gift is actual experience of consciousness.” He […]
Most of us western yoga teachers have a similar path that looks something like this: We realize we are suffering (from an illness, anxiety, watching family age poorly, etc.) We find yoga and it helps us We want to share this amazing helpful thing called yoga with others We see our local studio has a […]
