I knew that I wanted to pursue Yoga Therapy when I began my personal practice as a teenager. Once I had my Yoga Teacher certification, it was clear to me that I wanted to deepen my knowledge. I wanted to learn WHY and HOW yoga practices help to heal and to transform, and know WHAT practices to use WHEN when working with individuals one-on-one.
When I learned about the Breathing Deeply YT program, I was ready to dive in. It was different from other programs in that Breathing Deeply offered the convenience of online learning. I had debated whether or not I should wait until my daughter was older, so that I could attend an in-person training. I was worried that I would lack a connection and a relationship with my teacher and fellow students.
So far, the program has further deepened my understanding of yoga philosophy and the art/science of yoga in general. Since beginning the Foundations program in August 2017, I have practiced yoga therapy with a handful of individuals for various conditions – neck pain, sciatica, anxiety, depression, IBS and autoimmune disease. My clients have found success in alleviating symptoms of suffering, and are grateful for the positive change and transformation they have achieved with the guidance I’ve been able to provide as a result of Brandt’s teachings.
Anyone considering the BDYT program or perhaps, just starting their journey, should know that throughout the program, I have felt totally supported in my learning and in my work. I have felt confident in what I have to offer to my clients, and if I doubt myself, Brandt and my classmates are always available to provide their input and experience. Brandt is an incredible teacher. If you aren’t convinced of that during the online portion, you definitely will be through the weekend retreats. I am always amazed and amused by Brandt’s teaching style, and how he is able to bring the teachings down-to-earth for us to apply in practice as yoga healers in our modern world. I think that is the beauty of the Breathing Deeply Yoga Therapy program. It is so authentic, and so practical.
How would I describe myself now? I am a Heart-Centered Healer who educates individuals through yoga on how to use the body, breath, mind and heart to facilitate personal healing and evolution.
