Since starting the Breathing Deeply Yoga Therapy Program, I’ve definitely gained more confidence in my yoga teaching abilities and understanding of yoga concepts.
I had my own mental health struggles for years, which yoga helped with, but I was intrigued by how I could utilize the tools to a great extent. After the loss of a cousin due to mental health struggles, I knew it was time for me to dive deeper. I had also been going through a major autoimmune flare from mold illness, and hearing Brandt’s story and seeing that Breathing Deeply included autoimmune protocols, that was one of the reasons that I chose this program.
Personally, Vata Balancing on a regular basis has been a game-changer for my own balance. Anytime I have something I’m feeling nervous about (foundations exam, tough conversations in my work or personal life, etc.), I always make sure I create some time for a vata balancing asana, pranayama, or meditation beforehand.
It was really helpful for me to have this program be completely virtual. While I know there are a lot of benefits to in-person training, this has allowed me to continue working my day job without needing to utilize as much vacation time and work through the program at my own pace.
I was definitely worried about being able to remember all of the information within the program, especially after dealing with a mold-induced autoimmune flare and brain fog. Being able to work at my own pace and have access to the video content meant that I could watch and rewatch (and rewatch) videos as needed. I also really enjoyed being able to jump on the Q&A calls and just listen. There really is so much to gain from those sessions.
During Foundations, I had been working with a client with anxiety, trauma, and insomnia. Within just a few sessions of implementing practices tailored to her and her schedule, she was feeling a lot better and like she could better handle her anxiety, and her insomnia was reduced!
My yoga teaching is a lot more grounded and confident, in private sessions and group classes. I’m now working to start my own private practice within my community with a focus on mental health conditions and autoimmune disease.
If you’re considering joining our school, I would tell you that you’re choosing the right place with Breathing Deeply. The more time I spend in the program and the more Q&As and modules I attend, the more confident I become not only in myself as a yoga therapist but also in my decision that this was the right program (for me).
