Ever since doing my 200-hour YTT I have had an interest in pursuing yoga therapy. I enjoyed the full range of yoga practices, which offered different levels of healing beyond asana. I chose Breathing Deeply as I was a single parent and wouldn’t have the time or finances to do an intensive in-person study. This program gave me the flexibility I needed to pursue yoga therapy certification, while also having my second child.
Personally, since starting this program, I have been very inspired by deeper meditation practices and seeing how even just doing a little moving and breathing each day can have a profound effect on pain and mental health.
I have learned more about how to simplify my offerings and trust that those who align with my teachings will find me. The most valuable piece of the training has been learning how to work in a trauma-informed way, how to work with cancer, and how to work with mental health disorders. This training is incredibly in-depth and has highly exceeded my expectations. I am now able to bring more knowledge to my students, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of their own inner workings.
To anyone considering this program, if you are a parent or someone who has a lot to juggle in your life, but you have a deep passion for knowing the real traditions of yoga, how to help yourself, as well as others, this program gives you the freedom to complete on your own time. Whether you only do the foundations or dive deep into the advanced. This is a training that provides both quality and support to enhance your success.
In Foundations, I had an overweight case study who, even with very simple asana and pranayama, reported that through our work together, they were able to walk longer and feel less pain, which they significantly noticed.
I am still deciding whether I will specialize in anything specific. However, my passion for integrative bodywork has helped me find a well-rounded approach to using yoga therapy as a basis for creating lasting change and bliss.
