When I applied to the Breathing Deeply Yoga Therapy Program, I was in a difficult spot with my Covid recovery. Had recently left my PTA job and I wanted the ability to continue to impact the healing of others. I found Breathing Deeply, who’s online nature and the go at your own pace program, interested me and what I was looking for.

It was very exciting for me to start this program. I wanted and needed a goal. I am a lifelong student and this has helped challenge me. (If I was worried about anything, I guess it’s the money I’d be spending.)

Since starting as a Breathing Deeply student, I have developed a much deeper and clearer understanding of the Koshas and Doshas and now understand how to address concerns presenting in a therapeutic and professional manner.

In addition, my personal meditation practice is much deeper and can truly, without a doubt, say Yoga Nidra has impacted my life 100% for the better and learning about the depth of Yoga Nidra has changed my life. Chronic fatigue was very debilitating for me. I prioritize Yoga Nidra and have done some form of this practice everyday since the December 2023 retreat.

One of the most useful parts of my learning thus far has been how it’s helped me to feel better using the practices, specifically Yoga Nidra. If I didn’t feel better, it would be difficult to do what I’m doing now. I continue to feel empowered in this program and have found new confidence talking with my clients! Now, I am using the knowledge I’ve gained in multiple settings as well as in private sessions.

I am currently working at an Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Center. I teach yoga there and am hoping to soon be able to be more involved in the workings of their practice. It is the best class I teach all week!

For a case study, I had been working with a person suffering from Long Covid-CFS, depression and she has a lot of grief over her losses and personal health issues. I have been seeing her once a week for yoga therapy, helping her get back into her body with asana, pranayama & using Yoga Nidra. This has been helpful for her though it’s a slow process, as these challenges have been going on over 4 years since the pandemic and Covid. Today she shared that she knows I am helping her, even though the change is slow. That is huge for her, and I believe she will keep progressing.

What I would tell anyone considering this program that I have felt very supported by Brandt and my Teaching Assistants. I could get my questions answered and always felt like the conversations I was involved in were good learning experiences for me. Some people might be worried about what it’s like to be online…know that it has been a very positive journey with lots of interaction!
