Cathy’s yoga therapy practice aims to provide alternative ways to deal with the stressors of everyday life, whether they be physical, emotional or mental.
“Since I became a yoga therapy student with Breathing Deeply, I have learned so much about the healing power of our own bodies and breath and how much we can improve our own lives and the lives of those around us, utilizing all the different aspects of yoga.
One shift in my teaching is that now, I am more likely to use all the different aspects of yoga instead of just focusing on asana.
On a personal level, since starting the Breathing Deeply Yoga Therapy Program, I have found more ways to help myself with both physical and emotional issues as I explore ways to help others. I find if I “live what I preach/teach” the benefits go both ways!
When I registered for the Breathing Deeply Yoga Therapy Program, I had been considering retiring from public school teaching, which I have since done, after 35 years. I wanted to find another way to make a difference in the lives of others while sharing and enjoying my love of yoga.
I was hesitant to register at first as I did not know much about the program. Having now graduated, I have recommended it to many people because you can do it at your own pace, the information you gain is amazing and useful, and Brandt and Anna have been so helpful and supportive, along with the other students I have met along the way.
There is one case I am particularly proud of. I worked with a young woman with anxiety and lack of self-confidence. I was able to use my knowledge of asana, breathwork, mantras, and meditation to give her tools she could access in real-time when difficult situations, people or emotions presented themselves.
I have only worked with a few people so far. The most rewarding thing I have noticed is that my clients have begun to take ownership and control of their own lives and well being by using tools that have been taught by me!
Now, I get to spend my time finding creative ways to use yoga to improve lives!”
